| Refurbishment Project: The Chapel |

| The Chapel Completed |

| This project was a total renovation of a near derelict building. The old chapel had been an empty shell for over 15 years, the external stonewalls were in a severe need of repair, the roof was beyond repair and the entire internal walls had been removed. |

| However, having a blank piece of paper meant that the internals of the house could be designed from scratch. The brief was to design and build a house that was modern throughout, with stylish fitments, yet maintained some of the original character of the old chapel. |

| The design meant that new mezzanine floors were to be introduced, a galleried landing over looking the main lounge, with a twin approach staircase from the landing into the lounge were created. Thus creating three floors for extra floor space, yet maintaining the high roof line to the main room meant that the room was bright and open and in keeping with the feel of the old chapel. |
A contrasting kitchen was fitted, in modern and minimalist décor, yet with Belfast pot sink and high fitments to complement the age of the building. The fitting throughout are designed for modern family living yet evidence of the Victoriana bathroom still hold some of the mystique of the period in which the chapel was originally built.
The whole project was completed in a little over the 6 months planned, within budget and to the delight of the owners. |
